Meet Our Pitmaster - Scott Stevens

My love for food started low - at single digit ages when I learned from my mother how to cook.

It started slow - working in diners and cafeterias and resorts from the age of 14 through college.

But the heat was always there - the passion for food.

There was also the heat of Texas, where I lived for 17 years after college, where I tasted every bit of barbecue, I could get my hands on. In Texas, I learned if it ain’t smoked, it ain’t barbecue.

The slow burn continued for over thirty years, devoted only to my friends and family while I pursued a career in finance. But the flames never went out and I honed my craft with weekend barbecues, holidays, birthdays, any occasion to share my love for food. My travels, ostensibly about meetings and stocks, were actually about trying out barbecue in every region of this country.

Now early retirement has given me the opportunity to fan the flames and I can finally share this passion with the world.

Hogs ‘N’ Heifers BBQ Smokehouse is focused on Texas-Style Barbecue, where quality prime meats are smoked low and slow to perfection and delivered to you with amazing down-home sides that will taste better than your best home cooked memory.

This barbecue is all about the meat, but I also brought the low and slow to the sauce, spending years perfecting it to be the perfect complement that elevates but doesn’t overpower.

While this truck focuses on Texas barbecue, my millions (literally) of frequent flyer miles and years studying and savoring every type of barbecue mean I can cater any regional style you prefer for your private event.
